As an Associate Buyer of Perishables , you will maintain agreed upon service levels by customer while adhering to budgeted inventory levels and engage with customers on service level while partnering with vendors to successfully manage all aspects of product flow.
Procurement of product from branded and non-branded vendors to achieve the targeted service level.
Maintain in stock customer service level rates by monitoring, identifying, reacting to, communicating, and solving potential issues
Negotiate with vendors to maximize product flow, manage inventory levels and coordinate action against close coded, expired and other unproductive inventory.
Maintain budgeted inventory levels, utilizing system tools to analyze and react to trends. Work with team-members to accomplish established goals.
Maintain ordering parameters and accurate manufacture and item information. Consistently validating forecasting and item file information to ensure synchronization of customer and vendor systems.
Collaboration with manufacturers, internal department, and support staff to accomplish both team and company goals.
Interaction with customers, daily/weekly meetings problem solving of issues.
Executes special assignments such as new business initiatives
Support department efforts during non traditional hours ensuring overall department goals are met.
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Work with new business partners on business transition and items assortments
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Five (5) years in a wholesale or retail food industry, is a plus
Sound statistical acumen, interpretation, and analytical ability
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
