Position Overview

As a Reefer Mechanic, you will diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul reefer vehicles (tractor/trailer) and perform preventive maintenance.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Evaluate source of problem with trailer/reefer.

• Obtain parts required for repair.

• Clear workspace and remove parts needed to repair.

• May use roller to get underneath trailer.

• Operate tools required for repair including power tools, grinders, torches, and manual (hand) tools in correct manor.

• Replace and dispose of faulty parts.

• Repair Reefers while on ladder.

• Stepping up into Trailer if needed.

• Working on mobile tower and/or ladder.

• Rebuild appropriate parts as needed

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

One or more years’ experience

Vocational training certification

Class A Commercial Driver’s License; Valid Department of Transportation Physical Exam

Good attention to detail; ability to problem solve

Good communication skills, Productivity, Quality, Safety
