Position Overview

As an Associate Account Executive , you will serve as the primary contact for customers to develop, secure, maintain and service new and current customers. You will be responsible for establishing customer relationship in order to maximize our presence for the customer's current and future needs. This position will prepare you to assume an Account Executive position in the future.



  • Work with Account Executives to develop an understanding of customers, products, customer service requirements, company policies and practices, reporting requirements, etc; seek opportunities to learn all aspects of the business.

  • Serve as primary contact for foodservice customers to develop, secure, maintain and service new and current customers' current and future needs.

  • Conduct product demonstrations for customers and provides menu ideas. Learn broad classes of products. Provide menu analysis on demonstrated items.

  • Plan events and blitzes to grow the company's category classes.

  • Work with Account Executives on sales calls. Provide weekly recap of success and failures.

  • May take and place special orders for customers.

  • Prepare and submit required forms for approval and purchase.

  • Schedule delivery of special order products with customer upon receipt.

  • Monitor products and product inventory of new products, usage and movement. May purchase and/or deliver products to customers as needed.

  • Complete weekly, daily, monthly reports as required.

  • May maintain and update order guides, bids and margins.

  • Utilize available resources to enhance sales.

  • Develop and implement agreed upon marketing plan which will meet both personal and business goals expanding the customer base (new customers) and increasing sales to current customers.

  • Work closely with sales and support teams to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue generation and long-term account goals in line with Company vision and values.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Train briefly with other departments: Transportation, Operations, Purchasing and Accounting.


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Knowledge of procurement and merchandising; inventory and supply chain aspects of a food retailer with a grocery wholesaling background preferred

  • Ability to communicate, influence, negotiates and interaction with all levels personnel

  • Excellent communication skill both oral and written, superb time management, strong team player problem resolution capabilities, retail/sales/inventory analytics and strong ability to build rapport with customer and co-workers in a fast-paced high productivity, deadline driven work environment

  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office Applications

  • Have the ability to work Flexible Hours outside the traditional work schedule, including occasional weekend requirements
