As a Retail Pricing Manager , you will be responsible for establishing, implementing and monitoring the region’s retail pricing strategies and services that will better position region retailers to maximize gross profits and competitiveness. These responsibilities include providing C&S price management expertise to the Independent Retailers, Marketing Director, Retail Account Managers, and the Category Management Team.
Recommend and implement store specific pricing to maintain gross profit and competitiveness.
Monitor competitive data for completeness, data accuracy/integrity and significant shifts in competitive pricing postures and recommend appropriate response.
Evaluation of store specific pricing and implementation of pricing optimization solutions.
Participate in the implementation of new store setups and validate accuracy of setup once project completed.
If an existing store, examine and evaluate the current pricing structure and reporting needs to identify gaps and opportunities.
Analyze Independent retailer supplied private label gap to national brands.
Identify cost of goods problems which would ultimately affect the retail and gross profit of the item as it compares to the national brand.
Educate Retail Marketing, Retail Systems and Category Management staff on pricing systems, strategies and tactics to build retail sales, maximize gross margin and maintain a competitive price image.
Evaluate existing strategies on a regular basis to ensure timeliness of category competitiveness and profit posturing, implementing changes as appropriate.
Train and support of Independent retailers in the understanding and use of all strategic pricing applications and reporting.
Communicate on a timely and regular basis with retailers all changes in department
Participate in the timely delivery of comprehensive wholesale cost comparison analysis in support of region and corporate business development and retention.
Provide work direction, supervision, training and performance appraisals to staff to achieve performance expectations.
Review and test pricing system changes and report enhancements.
Semi-Annual C&S Food Show preparation, presentation and follow up.
Other duties as assigned.
College Degree (B.S. in Business Administration or related degree) or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience in pricing related activities, retail/wholesale experience preferred.
Ability to develop, coordinate and implement pricing that is targeted, realistic and effective in meeting retailer’s gross profit objectives.
Excellent Customer Service and time management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and analytical skills and attention to detail.
